March Update
Closing time! The last month of the season was eventful. Last games were played, the Mass State Tournament was a blast, and the girls reminisced on another great season filled with amazing memories!
Here are some standout games from each team in March:
U10-1 Red: Great game against the Bay State Breakers! The team played as one throughout all three periods ending in a 3-1 W, way to go! In the State Tournament, the U10 team advanced to the semi-finals! Awesome job!
U12-1 Red: The U12s worked hard and made it to the semi-finals in the State Tournament, much to be proud of. The team had a successful season with many wins, tournaments, and memories!
U12 Major-2 White: All the hard work has finally paid off, instead of just closing gaps on teams, we took the Eagles down. We scored pretty early in the first period and never looked back. The team worked together and stayed on the game plan to ensure the win. They never allowed the Eagles to get back in the game. When the Eagles stepped up their game, we answered the call. We are very proud and happy for the team to be rewarded with a win.
U12 Minor-2 Blue: In our second-to-last game of the season, the girls really showed up to play, getting a 4-0 win against a Spitfires team we have struggled against at times this year. Violet Cerretani had a shutout, helped out by excellent defensive play by both our defense and forwards, keeping pucks out of our zone and maintaining pressure in the offensive zone. Claire Marek scored twice, with the first assisted by Mattea Mendonca. Lucia DeFeo scored our second goal, assisted by Ella Lundergan. Our third goal scorer was Isla Doherty, unassisted. After a tough start to the winter portion of the season, following the reshuffle of the divisions and a much harder group for us, the coaches are very proud of how the girls have come together recently and playing their best hockey of the season!!
U13-1 Red: On behalf of the coaching staff, thank you to all of the players and parents for a fun year. The players have grown as people and as athletes. Best wishes to our players rising to U16. Season Highlights include the Summer Tournament, RI Tournament, and Jay Peak Tournament.
U13-2 White: The girls capped off the season with a great 3-0 win over the Islanders! The team had an amazing year and each player developed a new level to their game on the ice! Proud of this team.
U14-1 Red: Another great season for this group, a lot of hard work and determination from each player!
U14-2 White: Great pace all three periods. Our games against the Generals this year were very close and exciting. Kerry Friesz found the net on a great pass from Megan Cowles. Goaltending and D once again came up big. The girls came out with a 1-1 T.
Go Vipers!
